Moodie Malek, a native of Hawai'i, has remained in the islands for most of his life. He also spent 4 years in Los Angeles and has traveled to many exciting and exotic places such as Japan, the Phillippines, Greece, New York, Jamaica, Samoa, Tahiti and more.
Even after visiting so many different countries and cultures, still one of his favorite spots is the North Shore of Oahu. Although surfing is a passionate hobby of his, and why most of his paintings are of Hawaiian seascapes, it's the pristine beauty of the North Shore that captures his imagination. With all that Hawai'i has to offer, such as its local faces, plants, flowers and the hula, the ocean is the one part of home that has inspired Moodie in his paintings.
Moodie is not a formally trained artist but is a very visual and perceptive person.
