Catherine was raised primarily in Southern California and moved to Oahu from Balboa Island in July of 1994. Working at an early age with watercolors, pen and ink, she was always inspired by watching her mother work in oils. Though basically self-taught, Catherine has attended art courses in Orgeon, California and The Honolulu Academy of Arts. She now works mostly in oils and acrylics using both palette knife and brush depending on the thickness or texture she plans to achieve with each piece.
Hawaii's beautiful beaches, shorelines and landscapes have been the major influence and focus of Catherine's paintings, leaving a clean and peaceful feeling to her completed art pieces.
